What do you believe?
Do you care?
Should you care?
These are my thoughts, for whatever they are worth. I pray that even just one person is touched enough to become curious. Curious enough to investigate. Diligent enough to get the facts. Educated enough to decide that Jesus is THE way to heaven and then pursue a relationship with Him.
Allow me to begin by saying if you read this you will not be subjected to a monologue about how I can convert you, save you or make you a believer in God. That is that is not my job as a Christian and to be blunt – I can’t do it. Saving you, thankfully, is up to Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. I do have a responsibility, a commission as stated in the Bible, to tell you about Jesus, who He is, what He did, what He is doing and what he is going to do.
- Christians don’t save people. God does.
- Christians don’t have the right to judge people. God does.
- Christians are human, constantly making mistakes. God wipes them away each and every day through the grace and mercy of His son Jesus Christ.
I am a horrible reader. It takes me an hour to read and absorb just a few paragraphs of scripture. Without a bit of research on my part – quoting verses to communticate to you the enormity, importance and awesome power of God would be…well miraculous.
What I can do is speak from my heart. I can share with you my personal Dave story… My growing relationship with the creator of the universe even though at one point in my life He wasn’t even on my radar. I can let you know how my life changed the day I decided to let Jesus in. To give up every hang up, disappointment, mess up, screw up and failure and place them ALL in his hands.
I heard a quote recently from a quest speaker at my church:
“This is where I live but it is not my home”
What he was speaking of was life here, day to day, on earth with all the good and bad that goes with it. This is where we live. This is not our home. God has a better plan for all of us and it is with Him.
This page on my blog is by no means complete. Neither is my journey or yours for that matter. If you are a current subscriber to my website or reader of my thoughts week to week you may already sense a bit of what I am talking about in the way I write. Some say it’s motivational or inspirational. I’ll let you and God decide on that. All I can do is share. So share I will.
Thanks for spending a few minutes reading about what is most important to me followed by my wife Andrea and my boys Trevor and Andrew.
Be Blessed.
Dave
